Projects

Our previous projects provide a snapshot of what we can offer - we can create a wide variety of different projects, be it residential or commercial, industrial or retail - whether you are looking to take down a wall or build four new ones.

University Hospital, Crosshouse

Client: NHS Ayrshire and Arran

This project included a complete overhaul of the mechanical and electrical services (medical gases, nurse call system, bedhead services, mechanical ventilation, radiant panel heating, small power and lighting) finishes, fitments, fixtures, sanitaryware, doors and ironmongery, suspended ceilings and cubicle curtain tracks, vinyl safety flooring and all necessary wall protection. The wards were refurbished adjacent occupied wards and required to meet strict HAI SCRIBE guidelines during construction.

House for a Private Client

Client: Almond Place

Kilmarnock

The house occupies a tight, sloping site constrained by woodland and adjoining properties. The house was designed to take advantage of the setting, with the principal living accommodation on the upper floor and sleeping accommodation at ground level. The eaves level fronting the street is kept low in context with neighbouring single storey houses, while the west facing rear is elevated to give extensive views to the woods. Glazed curtain walling with sliding doors open out onto a deck at upper floor level - designed as a single open plan living area - to take full advantage of this outlook.

New Office Development

Client: Jubilee House

Forthside Way

Stirling

Volunteer Development Scotland and their sister company CRBS required a new office facility. The sensitive nature of CRBS's work, the volunteer arm of Disclosure Scotland, required careful consideration as to how to integrate the two offices whilst maintaining security. The office development is housed in a former Victorian store and albeit not listed, the Local Authority regarded the building to be of local significance and insisted on careful restoration / part conservation of the building. This presented various issues with meeting Technical Standards legislation but extensive research allowed the building to be fully compliant on a very tight budget.

New Office and Workspace

Client: Scottish Enterprise, Prestwick International Aerospace

Scottish Enterprise sought to create two new buildings that would reflect their dynamic approach to developing and promoting Prestwick International Aerospace Park. The buildings were to comprise offices and industrial workshop spaces to cater solely for airport related business. Extensive glazing was introduced to create a high quality appearance coupled with a over sailing canopy and brises soleil offering shading and in turn avoiding solar gain. The final appearance is a slick, dynamic building with subtle references to the aerospace industry through the floating roof, the fin shaped brises soleil and the metallic finish to the majority of the materials.

New Sexual Health Facility

Client: NHS Ayrshire and Arran

Ayrshire Central Hospital comprises a number of Grade B Listed properties including the former gatehouse. The gatehouse sits remote from the rest of the hospital buildings and therefore was ideal for a building requiring discretion and sensitivity for patients. The building was however too small to meet the NHS accommodation requirements and so a very careful design solution was adopted to create an extension to the rear being twice the size of the original building. It was agreed with the Planning Authority that the new building design would respect the existing building without reverting to pastiche.
